| Our catalogue ranges from the traditional Indo-subcontinent, Middle
Eastern music through to contemporary Western styles. We perform in English, Arabic, Urdu and Punjabi.
AAR's popularity is
attested to by a world audience. Particularly respected
and looked upon as mentors and representatives of a large cross section
of the Muslim audience.
Amran Ellahi founded
the band in 1998. The band member’s Kamran Ellahi, Tahir Khan,
Sheraz Yaqub, Usman Malik and Andy Mason are all UK born (in the West
Midlands), educated and socialised. AAR are classically trained
singers / percussionists.
We also conduct workshops in schools and community centres concentrating
on Peace, Unity and Love amongst Humans as well as tackling some contentious
issues like drugs, crime and anti social behaviour that are becoming
a big concern for parents and society today. Becoming life
coachs to show
the youth a way to communicate, smile, take interest in education, and personal development to enhance their lives and become
better human beings.
In order to steer our
youth away from radicalization and criminal conduct they need to be
exposed to voices legitimized by their own community. Voices that
aim to help strengthen the commitment and resolve of Muslims to being
full and active participants in society while adhering to
the ethical norms of their faith.
AAR believes that the
real spirit of Islam is not in conflict with the obligations and rights
of citizenship in Western liberal democracies. The true spirit
of Islam is represented in an attitude of concern for the well being
of one's neighbours (regardless of faith or the lack thereof), it is
represented in a spirit of caring and sharing in the ups and downs of
everyday life, it is represented in the ennoblement of the human character,
it’s in the construction of a just and peaceful society, it’s in
the devotion to God who created all things.
AAR has assisted International
Artists with their music such as RAIHAN (Malaysia) in producing their popular
“Allahu” track and providing backing vocals for Zain Bhika's track
"Wedding Song".
Tours throughout
the UK, Sweden, Germany, Holland, Canada, USA, Caribbean and Malaysia.
Along the way AAR has performed with Sabri Brothers, Sami Yusuf, Yusuf
Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Zain Bhika, Muhammad Al-Husayan, Noor,
Outlandish, 786, SHAAM, Khaleel Muhammad, Nazeel Azmi, Hamza Robertson,

successful decade in reaching out to their audiences with many live shows
performed at local, national and international levels. This has led
to a plethora of exciting plans for the future.
